Let me know what you thought of this book! The stories themselves were fine, but like I said it is not a writing style I like. But overall I do not like things being recited to me as a way of writing a novel. This also bothered me a bit about Around the World, but there it felt like someone was telling the reader at the end of the day, which would mean the reader was onboard with the characters and read a bit nicer. It felt very much like someone reciting the events after they happened instead of the reader being on board of the submarine. But I did not like the way it was written. I had less problems with 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. It takes away from the reality of the story. It feels very much like the start of each leg of the trip is picked exactly so by Jules Verne so it would line up and it would be fine. Because the pieces of the trip each take a while the routes are not extremely much traveled and so they would not go at just any point in time.
